Job Overview

Vodastra Technologies is seeking a skilled cable technician to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for resolving cable-related issues and ensuring the smooth operation of our network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot cable systems, including twisted pair copper, DS3 coax, and Cat 5e/6 structured cabling systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues with network hardware, including DSL modems, routers, and NID splitters.
  • Install and configure voice switches and data network hardware.
  • Perform wireless surveys and installation of 802.11a, b, g, n wireless technologies.
  • Install and configure T1, MPLS, DSL, and DS3 circuits.
  • Install and configure POTS lines and wireless access points.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on cable systems, including troubleshooting and replacing parts as needed.
  • Use diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics to assess and resolve equipment and system failures.
  • Maintain accurate records and process paperwork related to cable system maintenance and repairs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cabling systems and related fields, such as installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, such as EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and service aids.
