Secure Our Nation's Digital Infrastructure

ManTech is seeking a highly skilled Firewall Security Specialist to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical part in protecting our nation's digital infrastructure from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and deploy advanced firewall solutions to safeguard network infrastructure and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Develop and implement firewall policies and rules that meet stringent security standards, including DoD and Navy protocols.
  • Integrate firewall systems with existing network infrastructure and ensure seamless interoperability with other security systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure optimal firewall performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex firewall-related issues, including connectivity, configuration, and performance problems.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on firewall systems and features.
  • Ensure firewall systems comply with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific cybersecurity requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures, including access controls, monitoring, and logging, to protect network communications.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of firewall system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Generate reports on firewall system performance, usage, and security incidents.
  • Collaborate with other IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of firewall systems.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in firewall engineering, with a focus on advanced firewall technologies.
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining firewall solutions, particularly advanced firewall systems.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, SSL/TLS) and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Familiarity with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific cybersecurity requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a DoD or Navy environment is highly preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship and active Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Up to 25% travel or as needed.
