SUMMARY:

WR Systems is seeking a Senior Field Operations Specialist (Ships Navigation Aircraft Alignment System) for a dynamic and rewarding role representing the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in the execution of Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) repairs, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Field Change upgrades on US Navy vessels.

Key responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to the following:

  • Repair AN/SRC-40, CV-4095, Alignment Output Boxes (AOB), antennas, and related cabling.
  • Assist the In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) with technical inquiries regarding Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) and ILS support.
  • Conduct both dockside and at-sea evaluations, analyze gathered data, and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural challenges.
  • Provide expertise to address Navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and aid in the development and revision of all necessary documentation and procedures.
  • Travel to sponsor locations as a technical representative of the project, perform field tests, interpret and assess field data, and act as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, detailing the outcomes of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Initiate, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of the project.
  • Verify the functionality of newly installed equipment and assess system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Continuously enhance skills with new technologies and systems pertinent to ongoing and future projects.
  • Maintain and consistently seek improvements to testing procedures and processes for optimal efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide oversight and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
  • Contribute insights to project managers for proposals and Statements of Work.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Technical Training in US Navy Navigation equipment and systems
  • OR High School diploma or GED.
  • Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program to include:
o Installation Tasks

o Soldering

o Cable Dressing

o Cable Tray

o Conduit

o Making/Repairing Connectors

  • Four (4)+ years of practical experience, including electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout.
  • Two (2)+ years of experience providing technical guidance to junior technicians.
  • One (1)+ year of practical experience in electronics installation.
  • Knowledge and experience with the installation and operation of AN/WSN-7 & 7B, CDU, VMS(ECDIS-N), EM Log, DEML, DHSYL, NAVSSI, and other related shipboard Combat Systems equipment.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and coordination skills and possess the confidence and communication skills to brief senior shipboard personnel on the status of all requirements and issues.
  • Experience with management of installations of electronic Tempalts, Ordalts, and Shipalts, including estimating, tracking, reporting, and directing.
  • Experience may be concurrent.

Preferred:
o Proven management/leadership experience in the support of testing and evaluation of navigation systems.
