Position Overview
A Lead Research Coordinator (LRC) is the key individual responsible for the formulation, execution, and oversight of a research grant, cooperative agreement, training or public service initiative, contract, or other sponsored endeavor.

The LRC is also tasked with managing, supervising, and ensuring the integrity of any collaborative partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and conduct intricate investigations into allegations of misconduct by personnel, including child protection claims against students, under the guidance of a Director and in alignment with the Directorate's established processes and practices.

2. Create correspondence, briefings, and reports promptly, pertaining to individual investigations in accordance with the Directorate's policies and the Department's style guidelines.

3. Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships across Directorate teams, educational institutions, the broader Education Cluster, and ongoing communication with other pertinent external agencies such as law enforcement and child welfare organizations to promote a culture of transparent communication while ensuring compliance with departmental and governmental policies.

4. Keep detailed digital and physical records of investigations to substantiate recommendations to decision-makers, inform tribunals and courts, and fulfill accountability obligations to oversight bodies.

5. As a role model, exhibit a commitment to a culture of continuous learning regarding current legislative changes and emerging educational issues in child protection.

6. Design and implement training and development programs related to investigative practices to ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience conducting complex social science research studies that involve rigorous methodologies, preferably related to the programs and activities of the Department of Labor.
- At least five (5) years of experience serving as a lead investigator or in a comparable role.
- Proficiency in childcare data and market rate surveys; experience with federal surveys, including the American Community Survey and Current Population Survey; adeptness in handling missing data; and experience in communicating research findings to inform policy and program decision-makers.
