Program Management Lead

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is in search of a dynamic and seasoned Program Team / Site Lead with a proven track record in aiding governmental bodies in the strategic planning and execution of extensive technology initiatives. This role involves overseeing local operations that contribute to the creation of a comprehensive system integrating space, land, air, and naval surface warfare, electronic warfare, tactical intelligence, and special operations components. The ideal candidate for this pivotal position will support the Department of Defense in the National Capital Region.

This role necessitates a professional with a robust background and experience in various program leadership and coordination responsibilities, including:

  • Managing ARA's contract, which encompasses oversight of budget, timelines, performance metrics, and personnel
  • Coordinating team efforts and schedules, managing client deliverables, and ensuring daily customer satisfaction
  • Acting as the representative for the ARA contractor team on-site

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field with management training from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 15 years of supervisory experience in planning, developing, and executing significant research, engineering, and development projects for defense entities
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Possession of a current and active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
  • At least 15 years of experience in cultivating strong working relationships similar to OUSD(R&E) within the federal government, alongside multifaceted research and engineering program managers, staff, and organizational leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with outstanding time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in any discipline with management training from an accredited institution
  • Experience in supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense and/or DARPA

This position is contingent upon the award of a contract supporting the Department of Defense.
