About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Westminster Canterbury Richmond. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the supervision of our culinary, production, and restaurant teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Assist the Executive Chef in supervising and coaching culinary team members, ensuring they meet performance goals and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Assist in planning, purchasing, and preparing appealing and wholesome menus that meet state and local guidelines.
  • Inventory Control and Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure proper inventory control, sanitation, and repair needs are met.
  • Event Planning: Assist in producing menu items for catered or special events.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, team members, and other stakeholders to ensure concerns are addressed and high standards are maintained.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a food service industry, with ServSafe certification
  • Skills: Competent in overall culinary skills, food safety, and sanitation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary Certification or Degree: Culinary certification or degree, including Sous Chef Certification
  • Management Experience: One year of management experience in a food service industry
