Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Treatment Operations Manager to join our team at the City of Franklin. As a key member of our water treatment operations team, you will be responsible for directing the operations and activities of our water treatment facility and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the general operation of the facility through the use of Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) program and process control techniques.
  • Perform maintenance of equipment, including cleaning process equipment, collecting and documenting water quality parameters, and performing shutdown and start-up of plant equipment as required.
  • Conduct routine rounds to inspect and record plant operations, including chemical tank usage and general functionality of equipment.
  • Direct the completion of operational tasks assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent through effective time management of staff and resources.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and direction of the operations and maintenance of the facility.
  • Analyze facility performance, recommend, and implement process control techniques and other improvements to ensure maximum operational efficiency and optimized finished water quality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus three to four years of water plant operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Tennessee Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Operator's Certification.
Working Conditions

The work environment is loud, with frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell, and lift up to 25 pounds.
