Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair complex electronic and electromechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electromechanical troubleshooting and a proven track record of identifying and solving advanced process-related system problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Professional Service to Customers: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and courteous interactions.
  2. Identify and Repair Equipment-Related Process Problems: Collaborate with customers and other personnel to diagnose and resolve equipment-related process issues.
  3. Perform Onsite Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality.
  4. Perform Start-Up, Warranty, Paid Service, and Service Contract Activities: Set up hardware on specified systems within established timeframes and perform start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities.
  5. Document and Report Activities: Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, including down situations, and communicate with management as required.
  6. Troubleshoot and Correct Process Variations: Identify and resolve sources of hardware or process problems on equipment, facilities, or wafers.
  7. Communicate with Customers and Management: Participate in local customer meetings, communicate professionally with customers, management, and coworkers, and maintain excellent customer service skills.
  8. Prepare and Submit Required Paperwork: Submit all required paperwork on a timely basis, including equipment logs and records.
  9. Comply with Safety Requirements: Adhere to all OSHA and customer safety requirements, complete prescribed and recurrent training courses, and maintain uninterrupted access to customer sites.
  10. Travel and Work Overtime: Travel domestically and internationally overnight, up to 20% of the time, and work overtime and/or travel on short notice as needed.
  11. Train Other Field Service Engineers: Train other Field Service Engineers on specific product lines and company software.
  12. Assist with Onsite Equipment Installations: Assist with onsite equipment installations or complex retrofits on equipment and obtain final acceptance by the customer.
Requirements
  1. Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a Related Engineering Field: Possess an associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, plus two (2) years of experience or up to four (4) years of experience installing/repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment.
  2. Advanced Electromechanical Troubleshooting Skills: Demonstrate advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of quality improvement process methods and terminology.
  3. Ability to Identify and Solve Advanced Process-Related System Problems: Possess the ability to identify and solve advanced process-related system problems and communicate professionally with all levels of customers, management, and coworkers.
  4. Advanced PC Skills: Possess advanced PC skills, including Windows and MS Office suite.
  5. Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making Training: Preferably possess Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making training.
