Position Overview:
This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated electronic and electromechanical systems, providing field service and process applications.


The individual will be expected to function as an independent "product specialist" for designated EVG product lines.

Capable of aiding in the execution of intricate customer installation strategies for reliability, process validation, and final approval. Educating customer staff on advanced equipment usage, maintenance protocols, and process-related operations.

Offers onsite technical assistance for the development and execution of equipment and process applications. Provides training to fellow Field Service Engineers on specific product lines.

Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively carry out each of the primary responsibilities.

The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Delivers professional and courteous service to clients with a primary objective of achieving complete customer satisfaction.
Assists clients and colleagues in diagnosing and resolving equipment-related process issues.
Conducts onsite preventive maintenance, cleans equipment as necessary, and verifies the operational integrity of systems.
Engages in start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract tasks. Performs hardware configurations on specified systems within established timelines.
Keeps management updated on any equipment downtime.

Documents, logs, and reports activities as required.
Troubleshoots and rectifies process discrepancies on systems. Identifies sources of hardware or process complications on equipment, facilities, or wafers.

Participates in local client meetings and communicates effectively with clients in face-to-face, one-on-one, and group settings, as well as professionally via email and telephone.

Prepares and submits all necessary documentation promptly and consistently.
Maintains all assigned equipment logs and records thoroughly and promptly.

Records activities clearly in written pass-downs and communicates effectively in person when transitioning work to the next shift.

Adheres to all OSHA and client safety regulations. Remains current with all mandated and recurring training courses for EVG and clients to ensure uninterrupted access to client sites.
Willingness to work overtime and/or travel on short notice, including unscheduled callouts from home and other shifts, as necessary.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally overnight, as required, up to 20% of the time.

A valid passport is required.
This position necessitates the use of EVG-provided vehicles for business purposes.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain acceptable driving privileges.

Trains other Field Service Engineers on specific product lines and company software (timecards, expense reporting, drawings, parts).
Assists and completes onsite equipment installations or complex retrofits on systems and secures Final Acceptance from the client.
Ability to utilize training skills to troubleshoot tools to resolve issues and minimize downtime. Ensures equipment operates effectively and efficiently to enhance customer satisfaction.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:
Initiates purchase orders for parts and services.
Maintains and repairs company demo cleanroom equipment.
Stays informed and trained on the company's latest systems, methods, and procedures, including site safety.
Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills (both domestic and international).
Exhibits good housekeeping practices in all work environments.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:

This position requires an associate degree or bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline plus two (2) years of experience or up to four (4) years of experience in the installation/repair of semiconductor/electronic production equipment.

Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Familiarity with quality improvement process methodologies and terminology.
Capability to identify and resolve advanced process-related system challenges.
Ability to communicate and exhibit professional conduct with all levels of clients, management, and colleagues.
Must possess advanced PC skills (Windows, MS Office suite).
Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making training is preferred.

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Visual acuity is necessary.

The individual is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently and be able to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level occasionally.

Ability to wear appropriate cleanroom attire and work inside the fab/cleanroom up to 75% of the time.
