Rome Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Central Scheduling Specialist to join our Patient Access Services Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient scheduling and access to our services.

  • Collaborative Scheduling: Work closely with service departments to optimize patient scheduling based on staffing levels, provider schedules, and service line requirements.
  • Scheduling Block Management: Develop and manage scheduling blocks for designated services, ensuring alignment with service lines and hours of operation.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule appointments with outpatient departments according to established time frames and departmental requirements.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to referring offices and patients, responding to inquiries and resolving scheduling issues.
  • Training and Development: Train new hires onboarding with Central Scheduling and serve as a mentor/coach to provide feedback and support to associate schedulers.
  • Visit Management: Cancel and reschedule visits as needed, ensuring seamless patient flow and minimizing disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Healthcare Experience: Previous experience working in an acute care hospital, physician's office, or other healthcare agency is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; CHAA/CHAM certification preferred but not required.
