Rome Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Central Scheduling Specialist to join our Patient Access Services Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, ensuring seamless communication with service departments, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with service departments to optimize patient scheduling based on staffing levels, provider schedules, and service line requirements.
- Develop and maintain scheduling blocks for designated services, ensuring alignment with service lines and hours of operation.
- Schedule appointments with outpatient departments, adhering to established time frames and departmental requirements.
- Respond to multiple phone calls from referring offices and patients, providing scheduling and rescheduling support as needed.
- Train new hires on Central Scheduling procedures and serve as a mentor/coach, providing feedback and guidance to associate schedulers.
- Cancel and reschedule visits as necessary, based on patient needs or referring office requirements.
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital, physician's office, or healthcare agency is desirable but not mandatory.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; previous patient access or registration experience is preferred.
- CHAA/CHAM Certification is preferred but not required.
