Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Route Sales Representative to join our team at Herr Foods Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling, delivering, and merchandising our snack foods to grocery retail and independent chain stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Delivery: Safely drive a step-van delivery truck over assigned routes to sell, deliver, and merchandise products.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to a variety of grocery, mass merchandise, and independent chain stores.
  • Inventory Management: Manage daily accuracy of product inventory and rotate and provide credit to accounts for stale or damaged items.
  • Order Processing: Process orders by entering product codes into hand-held computers and collect cash from customers and accurately process associated invoices.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspection and maintain a clean truck.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Driving Record: Must have a valid driver's license in the current state of residence and possess an excellent driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Constantly reach, frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, drive, and lift up to 32 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
