Team and Role Summary:

We are in search of a seasoned Senior User Experience Researcher with a specialization in biomechanics or kinesiology to become a vital part of our Human Factors team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a motivated and entrepreneurial individual with a diverse skill set. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of UX research and demonstrate flexibility and strategic thinking, capable of managing various responsibilities, including project oversight and client development. The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision is essential.

The Human Factors team conducts a range of studies focused on product-related health issues (such as musculoskeletal strain), safety (including injury risk), usability, and overall user experience. We employ methodologies from fundamental sciences, including motion capture, biofidelic kinetic modeling, physiological data recording, and eye tracking. You will play a key role in translating client needs into empirical research questions, designing tailored studies, collecting participant data through innovative methodologies, analyzing results creatively, and providing actionable insights to our clients. Additionally, your work may involve litigation matters concerning alleged physical injuries, and you may eventually serve as an expert witness in biomechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, analyze studies, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Engage in client-facing activities, including management and business development.
  • Potentially serve as a testifying expert in legal proceedings.
  • Demonstrate tenacity, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership in all tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two to four years of industry experience with client project management.
  • Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or Sports Science with a minimum of ten years of industry experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for success.
  • Proven experience in managing empirical research from inception to analysis.
  • Strong skills in inferential statistics and data analysis.
  • Experience with motion capture and/or IMU equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with biofidelic kinetic modeling and physiological data recording is a plus.
  • Interest in litigation support and forensic work is desirable.

Physical and Mental Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as necessary based on project demands.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer.

Salary Range: A reasonable estimate for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000, influenced by various factors such as skills, experience, location, and role scope.
