Team and Role Summary:
We are in search of a seasoned Senior User Experience Researcher with a specialization in biomechanics or kinesiology to become a vital part of our Human Factors team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a proactive and highly motivated individual with a diverse skill set. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of UX research and demonstrate flexibility and strategic thinking to handle various responsibilities, including project management and client development. The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision is essential.
The Human Factors team conducts a wide range of studies focused on product use-related health, safety, usability, and user experience. We employ methodologies from basic science, such as motion capture, biofidelic kinetic computer modeling, physiological data recording, and eye tracking. Your role will involve translating client needs into empirical research questions, designing tailored studies, collecting participant data through innovative methodologies, analyzing data creatively, and converting findings into actionable insights for our clients. Additionally, you may engage in litigation matters concerning alleged physical injuries and potentially serve as an expert witness in biomechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, analyze, and prepare reports for various studies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Engage in client-facing activities, including client management and business development.
- Possibly serve as a testifying expert in litigation.
- Exhibit tenacity, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership in your work.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Two to four years of industry experience with client project management.
- Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or Sports Science with a minimum of ten years of industry experience.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for success.
- Proven track record in empirical research from inception to execution and analysis.
- Strong inferential statistics and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience with motion capture and/or IMU equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with biofidelic kinetic modeling and physiological data recording is desirable.
- Interest in litigation support and forensic work is a plus.
Physical and Mental Job Requirements:
- Willingness to travel as required by project assignments.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
