Job Scope:
We are in search of a skilled Scientist with a diverse background, particularly in oligonucleotide synthesis, surface functionalization, organic and bioorganic synthesis, and molecular biology. Ideal candidates will also possess knowledge and experience in biosensors, electrochemistry, and nucleic acid chemistry. This role will involve research and collaboration with scientists and engineers to enhance the company's proprietary semiconductor DNA synthesis technology and develop various diagnostic applications.

Responsibilities:
- Develop surface functionalizations for various substrates in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis.
- Select and apply analytical techniques for surface characterization.
- Investigate methods to improve surface stability and functional loading.
- Establish characterization methodologies for analyzing electrochemically synthesized oligonucleotide microarrays and pools.
- Provide expertise in nucleic acid chemistry, particularly in phosphoramidite-based oligonucleotide synthesis.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of electrochemical detritylation techniques.
- Enhance all aspects of the array-based oligonucleotide synthesis platform.
- Develop electrochemical detection assays for oligonucleotide microarrays.
- Facilitate technology transfer to the production team and offer support for process improvements or troubleshooting.
- Conduct statistical data analysis and present findings effectively.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Surface Science, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related biomedical field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries.
- Proven track record of success in product or assay development.
- Familiarity with electrochemistry and experience in electrochemical detection is preferred.
- Experience in nucleoside, nucleotide, and solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis.
- Knowledge of surface chemistry.
