Position Overview

Join National Grid in a pivotal role as a Senior Program Manager focused on Energy Transformation. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about driving change in the energy sector and are committed to achieving a sustainable future.

Location: Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely while being within a reasonable distance to our operational sites.

Role Purpose: This position plays a crucial role in advancing the New England Business Units' initiatives aimed at creating a decarbonized electric network. The Senior Program Manager will contribute to strategic planning, prioritize initiatives, and ensure effective execution of projects that align with both corporate and regulatory objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Collaborate with the corporate strategy team to refine the business strategy for the energy sector.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead a diverse team in crafting a multi-year strategic roadmap for specific initiatives, ensuring clarity in priorities and expected outcomes.
  • Program Management: Provide comprehensive program management support to executive sponsors, focusing on governance, performance tracking, and risk assessment.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee special projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Innovation Engagement: Identify and prioritize innovative solutions related to energy transformation, engaging with industry peers and stakeholders to gather insights and best practices.
  • Industry Representation: Act as a representative for National Grid at industry events, sharing knowledge and insights on the future of energy networks and their role in the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of the electric utility industry, including policy, regulatory, and technological aspects.
  • Proven expertise in decarbonization strategies and clean energy initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical skills with a background in data analysis and financial modeling.
