As a Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Critical Facilities team, playing a vital role in the successful execution of complex projects. Your responsibilities will include designing and engineering building automation and energy management systems in accordance with local energy codes and sustainability goals, project specifications, and other contractual documents. You will also have the chance to:

  • Analyze system performance at both the complete system and campus levels, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Evaluate building control and mechanical system performance across various levels.
  • Create tailored programming solutions to enhance building efficiency and performance.
  • Develop custom user interfaces for end-users to interact with your systems.
  • Engage directly with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project team members.
  • Program intricate DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems to fulfill project specifications and mechanical system requirements.
  • Enhance your understanding of project financial tracking through monthly audits and project completion reviews.
  • Contribute feedback on company-wide standards and participate in ongoing improvement initiatives.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO SUCCESS

  • A degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, though other disciplines are also welcome
  • Familiarity with electronics and basic electrical circuits
  • Experience with fundamental programming concepts
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems
  • Understanding of DDC (Direct Digital Control) theory and applications

IMPORTANT JOB DETAILS

  • The salary range for this position is competitive and based on experience and tenure.
  • This is a full-time, exempt role, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday.
  • Local travel may be required up to 50% of the time, with mileage reimbursed.
  • This position involves a combination of office work and routine visits to project sites, with up to 50% of working hours spent on-site. Project sites may present typical construction and outdoor conditions, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment for safety. Candidates should be comfortable with ladder use and small repetitive motions involving tools.
