Job Overview

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of manufacturing control systems that support our process operations. Your expertise will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives through automation upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of advanced manufacturing control systems.
  • Collaborate with client personnel to identify opportunities for automation enhancements.
  • Act as the primary controls resource for project management and support.
  • Create validation documentation in accordance with FDA cGMP and GAMP standards, including functional specifications and design requirements.
  • Design, program, test, and validate automation systems for process control.
  • Prepare and execute validation protocols to ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Oversee and document system upgrades through established change control procedures.
  • Manage on-site project resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions, including integration strategies and programming for PLCs and DCSs.
  • Oversee capital projects, including software development, hardware design, network architecture, and MES system implementation.
  • Conduct training and develop SOPs for automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to field control systems.
  • Review and execute automation qualification and validation protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a BS Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Chemical, etc.) or equivalent experience, with over 5 years in the process industry.
  • Proven experience in selecting, designing, and programming automation control systems, including DCS, Batch, PLC, and SCADA systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 & FactoryTalk.
  • Familiarity with various computerized systems, including MES, ERP, LIMS, and Validation Lifecycle Management Software.
  • Experience in applying CSV methodology for system evaluations and implementations.
