Role Summary: In the capacity of a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in the conceptualization and engineering of advanced aerospace machinery tailored for OEM applications. Your role will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to devise innovative solutions that adhere to the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Specialization in design and product development, as well as Machine Mechanics and Welding Technology, with relevant coursework including:
- Experimental Strength of Materials
- Applications of Machine Elements
- Mechanics of Machine Design
- Applied Mechanism Kinematics and Dynamics
- Advanced Machine Design
- Welding Processes
- Advanced Materials in Manufacturing
- Joining Processes
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in environments such as machine design, automation design, and overhead conveyor systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Machine Mechanics Design, Product Development Design, and Structural Analysis, including Finite Element Analysis, acquired through academic or professional experience.
- Understanding of operator ergonomics and principles of design for manufacturability.
- Proficiency in designing weldments and machining prints, with knowledge of linear guides, ball screws, and rack design.
- Hands-on mechanical design experience utilizing SolidWorks or Catia V5.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt within a team setting.
- Goal-oriented approach with the ability to manage pressure effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design and sales engineers to develop products, including creating designs in Catia, managing BOMs, and providing field support.
- Translate specifications into design concepts and contribute to the development of machine designs and structural equipment.
- Oversee the design and development of customer projects, managing budgets and timelines while serving as the primary contact for customers and project managers.
- Assist sales initiatives by working alongside sales engineers to create design concepts based on customer specifications, leveraging existing products as references.
- Achieve technical proficiency in current and future product offerings, including automated drilling and fastening equipment.
- Utilize advanced CAD tools such as SolidWorks and CATIA in your design processes.
