Position Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Lead Engineering Specialist. This role involves executing intricate engineering evaluations and designs, offering technical guidance and mentorship, and crafting innovative solutions for specialized projects. Key responsibilities also include ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and initiating corrective measures for design and operational challenges. This is a full-time opportunity.

Compensation: $82.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced engineering analyses and designs to support various operations, systems, and assessments.
  • Implement engineering methodologies, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a consultant providing expert advice on specialized engineering needs.
  • Innovate solutions using unique problem-solving approaches.
  • Deliver technical leadership and training on complex projects.
  • Guide teams in resolving intricate issues through advanced problem-solving methods.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technological skills to address challenges where existing guidance may not apply.
  • Offer technical direction and mentorship to fellow engineers.
  • Identify the necessity for and spearhead the development of new policies and procedures to align with strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Interpret industry guidelines for practical application.
  • Detect potential design, quality, or operational issues.
  • Initiate corrective actions in accordance with established processes.
  • Serve as the Responsible Engineer for engineering modifications executed by self and others.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution and a minimum of eight years of engineering experience, including one diverse assignment;
  • OR a high school diploma or GED with a PE license obtained through accredited examination, plus eight years of engineering experience and one diverse assignment.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and theories to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Advanced technical expertise in related disciplines is essential.
  • SRO (Senior Reactor Operator) or Plant Certification is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Digital Design, Electrical Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and Digital Control Systems.
  • Experience in Nuclear design processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Standard Design and Digital Design Processes is desired.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with both analytical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to provide robust technical guidance and training to other technical staff.
  • Capacity to work independently without supervision.

  • Ability to represent Engineering in industry working groups and related activities.
