Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, administer, and design civil engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Coordinate project needs and deliverables with other PBS discipline leads and business units, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Manage design staff as lead engineer on project tasks, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Provide leadership in efficient and constructable design of civil projects, ensuring compliance with local code requirements and environmental conditions.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and meeting client objectives.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, identifying new project prospects and developing proposals.
  • Participate in professional organizations and functions, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Mentor young professionals, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their growth and development.
  • Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects, reviewing job costing reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage project financials and billings, ensuring timely payment and accurate invoicing.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and professional registration in Washington and/or Oregon.
  • 7-10+ years of experience as a consulting engineer, providing design and project management of land development and municipal projects.
  • A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, as well as environmental conditions and constraints.
  • A proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with local code requirements and the ability to adapt to changing regulations.
  • Flexibility and creativity in engineering approaches, with a focus on innovative solutions.
  • Proficient skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, and management.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Management experience, leading and supervising staff to achieve project goals.
  • Marketing experience, writing proposals and procuring projects to drive business growth.
