The Lead Engineer for Hybrid Systems will take charge of both technical and commercial advancements related to electrified powertrains across multiple applications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and executing commercial strategies to uncover new business prospects in hybrid and electrified powertrain systems.
  • Evaluating Roush's internal capabilities and resources, identifying areas for enhancement, and proposing solutions for recruitment and training initiatives.
  • Providing leadership in the development and execution of processes aimed at optimizing hybrid system performance, collaborating across various departments and business units.
  • Establishing a comprehensive design review framework for hybrid powertrain systems, ensuring that system-level objectives concerning cost, quality, performance, and weight are met.
  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of stringent requirements for hybrid powertrain systems utilizing Roush's requirements management system.
  • Leading hybrid system-level Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and supporting related analyses throughout the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in propulsion system engineering, including at least 4 years in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems and 7 years in electric vehicle propulsion systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial aspects, including BOM cost management and project cost oversight.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives regarding product and business strategies.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to guide and consult on technical evaluations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with presentation capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of systems engineering methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in applied engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Published research in recognized technical journals or patents related to hybrid powertrains.
  • Experience in complex multi-variable analysis, particularly in hybrid powertrain contexts.
  • Understanding of business processes, including creation, refinement, and gap analysis.
  • A proven track record of mentoring and developing skills within the organization.
