Embedded Systems Controls Engineer
Role Summary:
The Body Controls division is currently navigating a significant transition towards a new requirements management system and architectural framework. This shift has created a considerable backlog of specifications that need to be reformatted, alongside the establishment and upkeep of a structured environment to support these specifications.
We are looking for a committed team to spearhead this migration and ensure the establishment of a solid foundation within the new requirements system, JAMA, over the upcoming months. The initiative includes three primary components:
- Legacy Conversion: Transforming existing specifications into the new atomic format in JAMA.
- JAMA Structure Development: Creating placeholders and managing the organizational structure within JAMA.
- Requirement Evaluation: Guaranteeing compliance with fundamental standards and the continuous maintenance of requirements.
Additionally, the team is expected to operate as a Scrum team, consisting of a maximum of 8-10 members, with a designated Product Owner responsible for overseeing daily operations and addressing any obstacles or issues with the support of the Ford team. The team is anticipated to start with a smaller size, gradually expanding to 8-10 members, and eventually reducing as the workload decreases.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in developing technical requirements for software-based functions.
- Familiarity with requirements management systems (JAMA, DOORS, etc.).
- Knowledge of INCOSE, EARS, or other requirements standards and best practices.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years in Algorithm Design for embedded hardware and/or software.
- 5+ years of expertise in control theory and algorithm design using truth tables and finite state machines.
- Proficiency with JAMA, JIRA, and GitHub.
- Understanding of CANalyzer, AutoSAR, SOA, and Functional Safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with or for an electronics control manufacturer.
- Collaboration with other engineers to ensure requirements are aligned with higher-level specifications, clearly linking to regulatory and functional safety requirements.
Required Experience:
- 2+ years in developing comprehensive requirements and test cases.
- 1+ year of experience with the specified applications/tools.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
