Position Overview:

The Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Software Validation Engineer plays a crucial role in the software product development and system integration lifecycle. This position involves creating test protocols for automated execution, utilizing HiL equipment for testing, documenting and reviewing test results, reporting issues, and monitoring software updates to address defects. Close collaboration with feature owners, engineering teams, and suppliers is essential to gain a comprehensive understanding of vehicle functionalities and to devise effective testing strategies aimed at early detection of software flaws and providing proof of defect resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the testing project for designated features.
  • Support the analysis of test requirements in relation to the capabilities of the testing environment.
  • Examine requirements and electrical schematics of vehicle components.
  • Design and execute test protocols.
  • Document requirements for the testing environment.
  • Validate solutions for the testing environment.
  • Develop protocols for intake testing.
  • Analyze results from test executions.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Essential Skills:

Hard Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development and verification of embedded software for complete vehicle systems using HiL equipment and software (e.g., dSpace, National Instruments).
  • At least 2 years of experience with dSPACE control and automation desk software.
  • Extensive experience with the dSPACE toolchain.
  • Systems-level experience.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with feature owners, engineering teams, and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle functionalities.
  • Proficiency in test design methodologies.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting vehicle systems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
