Position Title: Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Software Validation Engineer

Position Overview:

The Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Software Validation Engineer plays a critical role in the software development lifecycle and system integration by creating and executing test protocols for automated testing. This position involves utilizing HiL systems to conduct tests, meticulously documenting and reviewing results, reporting issues, and tracking software modifications to resolve defects.

This role necessitates close collaboration with product owners, engineering teams, and suppliers to gain a comprehensive understanding of vehicle functionalities and to devise effective testing strategies aimed at early detection of software anomalies and providing proof of defect resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the testing project for designated features.
  • Assist in evaluating the balance between testing requirements and environmental capabilities.
  • Analyze specifications and electrical schematics of vehicle components.
  • Design and implement test protocols.
  • Document requirements for the testing environment.
  • Validate solutions for the testing environment.
  • Develop procedures for initial testing phases.
  • Analyze results from test executions.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems effectively.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and verifying embedded software for complete vehicle systems utilizing HiL equipment and software (e.g., dSpace, National Instruments).
  • At least 2 years of experience with dSPACE control and automation desk software.
  • Extensive experience with the dSPACE toolchain.
  • Systems-level expertise.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, engineering teams, and suppliers.
  • Strong comprehension of vehicle functionalities.
  • Proficiency in test design methodologies.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting vehicle systems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement practices.
