Position Summary
The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for guests. This position involves a variety of responsibilities primarily focused on guest services, including registration, checkout, and payment processing, all aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests upon their arrival.
- Manage the registration and checkout processes at the front desk.
- Handle payments for guest accounts during registration and checkout, maintaining a secure house bank and preparing daily financial reports.
- Process cash transactions accurately and balance the cash drawer as required.
- Recognize and acknowledge loyalty program members and returning guests.
- Facilitate guest bookings, promote additional services, and inform guests about ways to enhance their stay.
- Review daily arrival reports, ensuring special requests are accommodated and all relevant departments are informed.
- Participate in scheduled training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Stay informed about hotel promotions, daily activities, and any VIP arrivals.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment.
- Respond to phone inquiries promptly and direct calls to the appropriate departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest needs are met, logging requests and following up to ensure satisfaction.
- Provide information regarding hotel policies, services, and local attractions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lobby area.
- Assist with reservation bookings and manage guest correspondence.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
In addition to the essential functions, this role may require performing supportive tasks as determined by management, including:
- Addressing guest inquiries.
- Following all safety and security policies.
- Reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards.
- Completing other reasonable job duties as directed.
- Work is primarily indoors, with a controlled environment.
- Ability to stand and move efficiently for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 45 lbs. and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Requires a range of physical activities including bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Proficiency in the primary language used in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred.
Grooming Standards
All staff members are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential for the successful performance of this role. Staff members are expected to comply with company policies regarding attendance and punctuality.
