Position Overview:
San Mateo County Health is in search of skilled professionals for the role of Electronic Health Record Analyst II - Optime/Anesthesia. This position involves providing comprehensive application support and user training for the electronic health record (EHR) system utilized by SMC Health. Responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, and security management of EHR applications, as well as supporting the design, development, and integration of system configurations.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Analyzing and documenting business operations and workflows.
  • Engaging with departmental clients to evaluate EHR requests and offering guidance on articulating business requirements.
  • Identifying and recommending enhancements to operational processes and information flows for improved integration.
  • Coordinating security workgroups to maintain the integrity of the system's security framework.
  • Acting as the primary contact for users and vendors regarding EHR-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Supporting assigned interfaces to ensure they meet user needs.
  • Conducting analytical duties in the design and maintenance of EHR systems.
  • Facilitating end-user testing and maintaining test environments.
  • Participating in the evaluation and testing of new module releases and system upgrades.
  • Installing or upgrading software applications and resolving related issues.
  • Providing on-site support during system upgrades and go-lives.
  • Developing and leading training programs, including the preparation of training materials.
  • Ensuring quality assurance processes are adhered to, including change management and testing efforts.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Epic certification in Optime/Anesthesia.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic health records.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment, preferably within government health services.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to document business and technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Strong time management abilities and a self-starter attitude.

Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. A typical qualification includes two years of IT support experience in a healthcare setting, with at least six months of Epic user support experience.
