Position Overview:
The Breast Imaging Specialist II is responsible for executing both routine and advanced breast imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images are available for physicians and healthcare providers. This role requires independent judgment and the application of developed clinical skills to perform safe and precise imaging procedures, delivering accurate results promptly. Building trust and rapport with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals is essential through effective patient assessment, vigilant monitoring, and clear communication. Compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures is mandatory to maintain patient privacy and safety while providing exceptional care. The specialist may also assist in training new staff members and performing specific procedures as needed.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

  • Equivalent experience may be considered in place of the required degree or diploma.
  • Other: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent education/experience.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • RHM-Radiology Mammography upon hire.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider upon hire.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of two years of recent relevant experience as a Mammography Technologist.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic mammography principles, procedures, and equipment, with experience in responding to various hospital emergencies.
  • Ability to conduct routine mammographic examinations and a foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including those without medical backgrounds.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and adhering to established operating procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology Information Systems, Laboratory Information Systems, Electronic Health Records, EPIC, and Picture Archive and Communication System).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Skill in identifying, evaluating, and resolving standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Commitment to maintaining the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Compensation and Benefits:

SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000 available to external candidates in accordance with Sutter Health policy.
