Position: Mold Operator

Shift: 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM (Mon-Fri)

Position Summary:
  • Accountable for operating molding machinery and inspecting the quality of produced items to ensure they meet established specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Function under the general guidance of the department supervisor with minimal supervision, adhering to established processes and procedures.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, and written instructions to execute tasks.
  • Promptly report any defective materials, quality issues, or unusual circumstances to the technician or supervisor.
  • Maintain production and quality standards as directed by supervision.
  • Ensure product quality through thorough inspection before, during, and after production.
  • Keep accurate records and relevant data as required.
  • Operate injection molding machines and blending equipment to combine raw materials.
  • Trim excess material using precision tools.
  • Inspect finished products for surface imperfections and flaws.
  • Secure threaded cores and/or overmolds in the molds.
  • Refill machine hoppers as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Participate in cross-training and assist in other production areas as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; one to three years of manufacturing experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform various assembly and soldering tasks manually.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling small components.
  • Capability to read blueprints and utilize measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to lift weights ranging from 10 to 55 lbs as required.
  • Willingness to stand or sit for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours daily.
  • Good manual dexterity and visual acuity are essential.
  • Potential exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
