Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the Product Development team, you will collaborate closely with Design, Tooling, and Automation Engineering to ensure the delivery of flawless product designs, tooling, and processes. Your role will encompass the development and execution of intricate plastic injection molding, high-speed assembly, liquid-filling, and packaging processes across a wide array of innovative consumer products.

Work Arrangement

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence at our Milford, CT facility on designated days, with flexibility for additional visits as project needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all assigned Reliability Engineering deliverables from initial concept through to production.
  • Implement Advanced Quality Planning and reliability design activities for complex, concurrent product initiatives; demonstrate a thorough understanding of Advanced Quality Planning principles.
  • Engage daily with product, process, tooling, and manufacturing engineers to align on shared objectives; represent Reliability Engineering in Program Meetings led by senior management.
  • Participate in product and process design evaluations, advocating for consumer preferences and requirements.
  • Lead or contribute to the innovation of consumer-focused processes and protocols aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Conduct or assist in product and process validation, utilizing lean testing methodologies and analysis.
  • Exhibit strong advocacy for consumer-centric decision-making and lean methodologies in a cross-functional environment; demonstrate decisiveness and adaptability to change.
  • Occasionally supervise the operations and personnel within an engineering laboratory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a product development setting is preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in structured problem-solving techniques, with a proven track record of resolving technical challenges in a systematic manner and leading problem-solving teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Minitab software.
  • Trained in structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills within a team context, demonstrating proactivity in responsibilities and relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to apply knowledge of plastic and metal mechanical and material properties in both development and problem-solving scenarios.
  • Adept at understanding consumer needs to support the development of functional engineering requirements.
  • Skilled in designing consumer-driven tests that validate product durability.
