The Opportunity:

Purpose:
The Project Engineer will collaborate with the segment team under the guidance of the Business Segment Manager. This role involves partnering with project managers and technical teams to ensure that the architected, designed, and installed solutions align with customer requirements from the outset. In instances of unexpected system performance challenges, the Project Engineer will engage with the team and the client to identify and implement viable solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess experience as a field or software engineer and have been involved in diverse projects across multiple industries. Responsibilities will encompass managing projects from initial concept through to customer approval, requiring a strong sense of ownership. Additionally, support for other project teams facing specific challenges will be expected. This individual must be data-driven and capable of guiding the project team (both internal and external) in root cause analysis and solution development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the application and sales process
- Contribute to the technical sections of proposals
- Maintain proposal templates with appropriate terminology and technical solutions
- Develop standard requirements/questionnaires for project estimation
- Create guidelines for various applications and vehicle types
- Review desired system requirements, including throughput and interface specifications
- Ensure system performance meets design requirements
- Collaborate on the technical sections of the Functional Requirements Specification and other documentation
- Evaluate and refine operational systems to meet performance criteria
- Conduct overall application risk assessments
- Engage with customers on technical solutions and performance metrics
- Conduct safety risk assessments and generate necessary documentation
- Monitor and validate risk mitigation strategies as per project requirements
- Attend project meetings focusing on system design and performance
- Evaluate technical requirements for projects
- Develop customer dashboards to track project progress against KPIs
- Collaborate with the testing department to create vehicle test plans
- Work with project teams to identify performance trends and ensure project alignment with technical objectives.

Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Creative problem-solving skills and openness to new methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word, and AutoCAD
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze trends
- Capacity to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated project ownership and passion for optimizing machines and systems.

Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years in Project Management, field, or software engineering within the automation sector.

Special Position Requirements:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
