Role Impact:

The Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer plays a vital role in sustaining our Quality Management System and spearheading enhancements through targeted projects. This position requires adept problem-solving skills to address daily quality challenges and lead initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance current products and workflows to boost efficiency and quality in manufacturing and quality control.
  • Develop and propose engineering solutions to tackle capacity, cost, and quality challenges.
  • Establish and document specifications by applying industry standards to fulfill product and customer requirements, thereby enhancing overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Lead Practical Process Improvements (PPI) with interdisciplinary teams using lean methodologies, including data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Prepare and present analytical reports to colleagues and management.
  • Revise manufacturing documentation to resolve production challenges and implement best practices.
  • Oversee validation processes for instruments and equipment utilized by manufacturing and quality control teams.
  • Promote safety enhancements to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Draft and review project proposals with stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, documentation, and timelines to guarantee timely delivery of objectives.
  • Communicate effectively regarding challenges and seek necessary support for resolutions.
  • Engage with our Quality Management System to conduct investigations and identify solutions for process deviations.
  • Participate in audits and address any findings.
  • Identify and execute appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with vendors for maintenance and repair scheduling of equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO or cGMP).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and a basic understanding of manufacturing financials.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kaizen).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional projects.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and inter-departmental roles.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and tools (e.g., ANOVA, JMP, Minitab).
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
