At Empire State, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator, Business Development to join our team in the Mid-Hudson Region. This role will be responsible for originating and managing projects to assist with business retention, growth, and start-up in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project analysis and review to support business development initiatives.
  • Coordinate financial analysis of projects with the ESD Finance team.
  • Prepare administrative documents, including project origination paperwork, reports, presentations, and budget materials.
  • Monitor project compliance to ESD guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze Consolidated Funding Applications submitted to the Regional Office.
  • Maintain an understanding of the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council's work and project review.
  • Establish and maintain contact with key economic development agents, including IDAs, Chambers, and municipalities.
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries from small businesses, start-ups, and ongoing concerns that require more information than can be provided by administrative staff.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events, such as groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and state announcements.
  • Provide assistance to various project managers as business necessitates.
  • Draft memos, talking points, briefings, and other strategic communications and materials as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2-year degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience; or any equivalent combination of direct relevant experience and/or education.
  • Public sector experience a plus. Bachelors preferred.
  • Knowledge of project development and government relations, financial analysis, public policy, data analysis, and effective writing and oral communication skills.
