GeorgiaGov is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) within the Academic and Student Affairs division, specifically in the Industrial & Transportation Technologies department. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of aviation education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, adhering to an established course syllabus while ensuring that educational outcomes are met. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of current aviation practices.
  • Complying with FAA regulations applicable to Part 147 institutions.
  • Welcoming constructive feedback and participating in internal evaluations of teaching methodologies.
  • Effectively managing multiple tasks and adhering to deadlines.
  • Engaging students through diverse instructional strategies.
  • Implementing appropriate assessment and grading techniques.
  • Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Overseeing the use of educational materials and equipment by students.
  • Providing guidance and support to students while maintaining accurate records.
  • Participating in required meetings and upholding institutional standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to FAA guidelines for accredited programs.
  • Assisting with student recruitment and job placement initiatives as necessary.
  • Engaging in committee work and maintaining professional development as required.
  • Following institutional policies and regulations diligently.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate should possess an Associate's degree from an accredited institution and have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in an educational or professional environment. A & P certification along with 1-3 years of experience as an A & P mechanic is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to candidates who surpass the minimum qualifications by holding a Bachelor's degree or higher, possessing three or more years of relevant experience, and having two or more years of teaching experience. Additional desirable skills include quick decision-making, excellent customer service, and proficiency in technology.
