Position Overview:

As a Building Engineer at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the operational efficiency of building systems. Your responsibilities will encompass the monitoring, upkeep, and repair of various systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and fire safety systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies regarding building operations and safety protocols.
  • Implement and maintain an energy management program to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of a preventive maintenance strategy to prolong the lifespan of building machinery and systems.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
  • Perform inspections on building systems such as fire alarms and HVAC to verify operational integrity and compliance with design specifications.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of engineering principles to tackle complex tasks and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Mentor team members by sharing expertise and promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Influence customer and operational activities within your team and related departments.
  • Communicate complex information effectively and with sensitivity.
  • Work cohesively within a large team, contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with 4-5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred.
  • Possession of necessary certifications or licenses as mandated by local or state regulations.
  • Physical capability to perform essential job functions, including lifting heavy loads and climbing.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on diverse information sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
