Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to become a vital part of our team at Cummins, focusing on Manufacturing operations.

In this position, you will contribute significantly in the following areas:
  • Enhancing Operational Efficiency: By supporting line staff with maintenance tasks, you help ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime.
  • Facilitating Problem Resolution: Assisting in identifying and troubleshooting issues accelerates resolution, thereby boosting overall productivity.
  • Streamlining Inventory Control: Implementing a computerized system for managing spare parts and materials can result in cost reductions and less waste.
  • Ensuring Equipment Reliability: Your support in resolving and repairing equipment issues enhances the reliability and lifespan of machinery.
  • Contributing to Engineering Insights: Engaging in evaluations of equipment design can yield practical insights that enhance engineering results.
  • Establishing Preventative Maintenance: Developing processes for preventative maintenance guarantees that equipment remains consistently operational.
  • Upholding Quality Standards: Your collaboration with Facilities and Quality Engineering reinforces the company’s dedication to high-quality standards.
  • Promoting Continuous Improvement: By participating in various maintenance and engineering activities, you can identify opportunities for ongoing process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Health and Safety Advocacy: Proactively identify risks and engage in actions that foster a safe working environment, influencing others to cultivate a culture of safety.
  • Safety Control Vigilance: Maintain awareness of control-related hazards and incorporate safe practices into daily routines, with a strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Interpret engineering schematics accurately to assist in the design and development of manufacturing processes that meet product specifications.
  • Strategic Equipment Selection: Choose equipment that fulfills manufacturing specifications while aligning with project needs for optimal performance.
  • Maintenance Planning: Leverage maintenance records and data to formulate preventative and predictive maintenance strategies that enhance machine reliability.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction to enhance quality and reduce costs.
  • Controls Engineering Application: Utilize your controls engineering knowledge to oversee the design and implementation of hardware and software solutions that improve manufacturing systems.
  • Ergonomic Consideration: Apply ergonomic principles to mitigate risks and ensure a workplace conducive to employee well-being.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and be open to implementing changes that drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • A college degree or equivalent is required.
  • This position may necessitate licensing for compliance with relevant regulations.
Experience:
  • A foundational level of relevant work experience is necessary.
  • A relevant college degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience in maintaining production equipment.
  • Assisting with facility repairs.
  • Coordinating projects and contractors.
  • This role requires full onsite presence.
