ROLE OVERVIEW

The Regional Merchandise Manager is tasked with the strategic oversight, implementation, and administration of merchandising operations within a specified area. This position requires leading a dedicated team, engaging with various departments, and driving revenue through innovative merchandising initiatives. The Regional Merchandise Manager guarantees that all retail locations within the region comply with corporate merchandising standards, optimize sales potential, and fulfill customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Development:
    • Formulate and execute merchandising strategies that are in line with the company’s overarching goals.
    • Evaluate regional market dynamics, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to guide merchandising choices.
    • Design seasonal and promotional merchandising strategies aimed at boosting sales and profitability.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Guide, mentor, and nurture a team of merchandise managers, coordinators, and associates.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness.
    • Ensure the merchandise team is aligned with the company’s mission and objectives.
  • Inventory Oversight:
    • Manage and oversee inventory levels across the region.
    • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely merchandise delivery.
    • Monitor stock levels and adjust as necessary to maintain optimal product availability.
  • Sales Performance Analysis:
    • Assess and analyze sales performance throughout the region, identifying areas for enhancement.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on sales, inventory, and merchandising activities to upper management.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to refine merchandising strategies and enhance regional outcomes.
  • Store Operations and Visual Standards:
    • Ensure compliance with corporate visual merchandising standards across all stores in the region.
    • Collaborate closely with store managers to optimize store layouts, product presentations, and promotional displays.
    • Conduct routine store assessments to ensure adherence to merchandising best practices.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and oversee the regional merchandising budget, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
    • Monitor and control expenditures related to merchandising activities, ensuring alignment with the approved budget.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or effectiveness.
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Ensure merchandising initiatives contribute to a positive and consistent customer experience across all regional stores.
    • Collect feedback from customers and store teams to continuously enhance merchandising strategies.
  • Client Relations:
    • Ensure effective reporting and alignment with clients.
    • Lead client engagement meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related discipline; an MBA is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior merchandising capacity, preferably in a retail context.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role typically involves a combination of office work and travel to various stores within the region.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours may be required.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
  • The Regional Merchandise Manager reports directly to the EVP of Partnerships.
