Position Summary

A Regional Operations Supervisor at Bell Nursery is tasked with managing the sales and operational functions across various garden centers. This role encompasses the oversight of expenses, staffing, visual presentation, and relationships with business partners. As a pivotal leader, the Regional Operations Supervisor is expected to drive change and facilitate communication to achieve optimal outcomes. The position reports directly to the Regional Market Manager or Market Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in recruiting and selecting qualified personnel to fulfill the district's requirements.
  • Train and mentor staff in the execution of daily responsibilities.
  • Engage in the implementation of company policies and the formulation of long-term objectives.
  • Oversee visual merchandising across the district, ensuring compliance with pricing, product quality, inventory levels, and promotional items.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales and coordinate promotional activities.
  • Establish effective measures at the store level to uphold signage standards.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of merchandise displays consistently across all locations, ensuring adherence to planograms and maintaining product quality and inventory levels.
  • Facilitate communication between the garden centers and Bell Nursery USA.
  • Ensure compliance of Area Managers, Store Supervisors, and merchandising teams with established company policies and standards.
  • Address challenges affecting service, efficiency, and productivity within the garden centers.
  • Plan and oversee monthly inventory assessments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety protocols and foster a culture of safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising Manager to ensure stores maintain the appropriate product mix and inventory levels to meet sales targets.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Regional Market Manager regarding district activities and issues.
  • Engage in district meetings and collaborate with peers to maximize sales.
  • Regularly update discard entries and manage inventory counts.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in retail management preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Capability to manage multiple locations and their respective teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel within the district frequently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and intermediate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of horticulture and gardening is a plus.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred.
