Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

The Senior Procurement Specialist at Supermicro plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the purchasing operations within the technology division. This position involves coordinating the efforts of the procurement team, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality materials, supplies, and equipment through both informal and formal bidding processes. Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Strategically plan and procure material requirements to guarantee a seamless flow of resources for ongoing production and new product development.
  2. Prepare, review, and submit departmental purchasing requisitions.
  3. Oversee the complete purchase order cycle, ensuring timely communication with vendors regarding order status.
  4. Maintain comprehensive computerized purchasing records alongside traditional filing systems.
  5. Regularly monitor progress against procurement plans, focusing on on-time delivery, warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and vendor performance.
  6. Identify and resolve any material shortages affecting production.
  7. Manage relationships with supply chain partners, ensuring compliance with sustainability policies and meeting delivery and quality benchmarks.
  8. Establish and nurture partnerships with reliable vendors to effectively manage purchase orders based on demand.
  9. Ensure accurate physical inventory control and accountability.
  10. Conduct regular audits and root cause analyses to foster continuous improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  11. Collaborate with various department heads to develop weekly sales forecasts.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, materials management, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in materials management, procurement, and supply chain operations.
  • A proven track record of customer-centric service and support for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong adaptability to operational changes in processes, environments, and resources.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A keen ability to identify opportunities for enhancing accuracy and optimizing resource utilization, along with the capability to develop and implement solutions.
  • A comprehensive understanding of overall business processes, with the ability to perform and validate details effectively.
  • Proficiency in resolving issues independently and taking timely, appropriate actions.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A quick learning ability for new software applications as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and fluency in written and verbal English.
