Position Overview:

The Project Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Accountant by delivering essential financial services for various projects. This includes contract analysis, billing processes, reporting on work completed, and managing payments to subcontractors and for general conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and posting of monthly billing statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual billing stipulations.
  • Help maintain and distribute weekly productivity tracking spreadsheets.
  • Support the analysis of cash positions and projections.
  • Conduct periodic audits of project billings to confirm all costs are submitted for payment.
  • Collaborate with operations to prepare monthly cost estimates for project completion.
  • Participate in monthly cost review meetings with Operations and Finance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the business unit.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite or similar financial software is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capable of working under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Effective interaction with all levels of personnel, including management, staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-driven and proactive in approach.
What You Bring:
  • An Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management support, ideally within a construction setting.
  • A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
Work Environment:
  • General office environment with extended periods of sitting, standing, and typing.
  • Work primarily indoors with varying conditions, including fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise levels may vary, typically low to medium, but can be higher on job sites.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs may be necessary.
