KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies that Projects comply with established policies and inputs them into the relevant system.
  • Maintains a comprehensive project log, including management of status updates, in-service dates, and asset retirements.
  • Evaluates 'Stay in Business' projects for accuracy and prepares Construction in Progress (CIP) documentation for integration into the Fixed Asset system.
  • Compiles, tracks, and reports on capital expenditures on a periodic basis.
  • Prepares necessary project entries to ensure accurate invoice recording.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account details and substantiating these transactions through document audits when necessary.
  • Safeguards financial integrity by ensuring adherence to internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
  • Addresses inquiries regarding accounting procedures by researching and interpreting relevant policies and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate controls and policies by enforcing adherence to established requirements.
  • Assists in the setup of new assets.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred: Associate's degree in accounting or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of experience and education that meet minimum qualifications may be considered.
  • Preferred: One to two years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Access.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize detailed information effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaboration with various departments.
  • Experience with relevant software systems is advantageous.
