Role Purpose:

The Manufacturing Process Specialist will serve as a pivotal technical resource, focusing on the enhancement of production processes. This role involves the oversight and implementation of strategies aimed at improving safety, quality, and operational efficiency, all while working under the guidance of the Process Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify and act on opportunities for increasing operational uptime and supporting production activities.
  • Oversee the initiation of new machinery and the modification of existing systems to meet production demands.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness standards in the workplace.
  • Implement modifications to current manufacturing processes and equipment to boost production capacity and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to production efficiency and product quality while managing costs.
  • Participate in the design and execution of capital projects.
  • Analyze layouts of machinery to optimize performance and suggest necessary changes.
  • Oversee the expansion and renovation of production lines to enhance process effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and project timelines.
  • Create and maintain written standard operating procedures and safety instructions.
  • Engage in the early stages of new product introductions to establish effective manufacturing methods and lead production trials.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Process Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, with knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in computer applications and knowledgeable about OSHA regulations.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
