Job Summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is a leading manufacturer of tracked and wheeled military equipment, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare workstations by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolve assembly problems by making fine adjustments to meet specifications; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintain equipment operational by completing cleaning and lubricating requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies with Team Advisor; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform mechanical tasks.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
