Overview

As a pivotal member of our Silicon Technologies team, you will play a crucial role in the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge, high-performance, and energy-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. Your expertise will ensure that Apple products and services deliver the seamless and efficient performance that our customers cherish. Role Responsibilities

* Lead the requirements and execution of product, process, and package qualification, as well as reliability stress testing from the design phase through to successful qualification.
* Oversee and evaluate Design for Reliability and Design for Test initiatives to guarantee optimal stress-ability and testability.
* Manage all aspects of qualification preparation, including corner skew materials, BIB/Socket configurations, waveform settings, electrical bias, thermal effects, and lifetime estimations.
* Implement Process of Record (POR) for workflows and workmanship standards while supervising product performance.
* Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure that critical objectives are met prior to engineering, pre-production, and production phases.
* Drive investigations and resolutions for qualification failures and nonconformance issues through Failure Analysis (FA), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), 8D methodologies, and comprehensive reporting.
* Support Product Change Notification (PCN) or Engineering Change Notification (ECN) activities as necessary.
* Perform supplier audits as required.
* Analyze yield and correlation data across all testing levels, including Pareto analysis and statistical evaluations.
* Guide suppliers in their improvement efforts as needed.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor engineering, specifically in Reliability and/or Quality/Product Engineering roles within multinational organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with JEDEC reliability standards, quality protocols, ISO regulations, and the underlying science.
  • A solid background in silicon product-level reliability qualification and lifetime behavior modeling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of reliability failure modes associated with silicon and packaging technologies.
  • Prior experience in defining hardware setups and equipment for life, environmental, ESD, Latch-Up, and other testing scenarios.
  • Proven track record in auditing supplier sites, materials, and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing suppliers in silicon fabrication processes, packaging, assembly, testing, ongoing reliability monitoring, and post-production qualification.
  • Understanding of process flows, specifications, and oversight of supplier performance metrics (process Cpk, yield, qualification reports, etc.).
  • Knowledge of FAI practices to validate supplier outputs before production.
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role.

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.

  • At Apple, the base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a range. This structure allows for growth and development within your role. The base salary range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
