We are in search of a Reliability Assurance Engineer to become an integral part of our operations based in San Diego, CA.

As a Reliability Assurance Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will encounter a stimulating and fulfilling opportunity to contribute to our comprehensive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

The role encompasses managing interactions with manufacturing, logistics support, design engineering, quality assurance, and testing teams; coordinating with other reliability initiatives; and engaging key stakeholders within the systems engineering framework.

The Reliability Assurance Engineer will serve as a liaison between the reliability sector and other functional areas of the programs, as well as with various reliability-related disciplines, defining the necessary resources to fulfill reliability requirements.


Core Duties:

  • Provide expert reliability guidance on assigned programs.
  • Participate in reliability engineering evaluations.
  • Collaborate with fellow reliability engineers and programs to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Advise Systems Engineers on their responsibilities in line with the Reliability Program.
  • Conduct independent reliability assessments as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work across multiple disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis, FRACAS, FMEA/FMECA, or related Reliability Engineering tasks.
  • Must possess the capability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret and SAP security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, FRACAS, ESS, Reliability Testing, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, sparing analysis, and related engineering tasks.
  • Experience in conducting detailed risk assessments.
  • Current Active SAP security clearance.

Salary Range:
$79,300 - $118,900

The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and prevailing market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base compensation. Annual bonuses are designed to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to share in the company's success. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
