Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Cloud Reliability Engineering (CRE) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing solutions to ensure the reliability and security of our cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot cloud reliability issues and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Design and implement observability tools to detect and prevent cloud and customer issues
  • Partner with other engineering teams to lead reliable solutions and ensure industry-leading reliability of the Zscaler Cloud
  • Become a valued leader in the CRE organization and guide tool automation and CRE best practices across Zscaler
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software development or sustenance engineering team
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python
  • Hands-on experience in network security products and technologies like firewall, VPN, or data protection
  • Leadership experience and a vision for developing cloud and customer reliability tools
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the culture of customer/cloud reliability engineering in comparable technology environments
  • Solid experience engaging technical teams to discuss use cases, review feature/function requirements, and define solutions
  • Mentoring engineering teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and learning
