Location: US-NY-Syracuse
Culinary Operations Supervisor will oversee, mentor, guide, and train team members to uphold the company's culinary standards.

This role is essential for the successful and profitable management of our culinary operations. The supervisor must ensure a positive, compliant, and collaborative work atmosphere.

Consistent attendance and flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, are required. Candidates should possess open availability, a professional demeanor, exceptional interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and strong leadership capabilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including supervising line setup, preparation, and breakdown activities.
  • Oversee buffet, beverage, and carving station setups, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and in good condition.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen records, including inventory management and food ordering, while organizing staff schedules for optimal coverage.
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to established recipes.
  • Utilize various kitchen tools and equipment to create and serve dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring no food debris is present on any surfaces.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and enthusiastic work environment.
  • Monitor food production to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and presentation standards.
  • Guide and motivate kitchen personnel, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and make informed decisions to resolve issues.
  • Document personnel performance and collaborate with Human Resources on any disciplinary matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within an upscale culinary environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Possession of a state-issued Health Certificate and required immunizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to develop and motivate staff through effective training and evaluation.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Serve Safe certification is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
