  • POSITION OVERVIEW
    • The Patient Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing requests to schedule and process orders for various clinical services. This role involves adhering to customer service standards while ensuring accurate information exchange and effective communication with clinical departments. The Coordinator analyzes patient requests and facilitates the scheduling of diagnostic services such as X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and more.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct thorough verification of patient demographics and insurance details while maintaining strict adherence to privacy regulations.
    • Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and handle billing information as required.
    • Coordinate with clinical teams to prioritize urgent examinations and arrange for translation services when necessary.
    • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to access patient history and retrieve previous results as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with medical necessity standards by accurately entering ICD-10 codes.
    • Manage all communications with patients and medical professionals, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
    • Monitor call queues to meet departmental standards and assist in the review of orders for compliance with protocols.
    • Provide support for follow-up calls to patients as requested by radiologists.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in scheduling and admitting functions.
    • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma is required; two years of college or equivalent experience is preferred.
    • Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Proficiency in basic computer applications and typing is required.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
    • Knowledge of outpatient procedures and appointment types is advantageous.
    • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
