Position Overview: This role is responsible for gathering insurance details, managing referral documentation, and providing guidance to patients regarding financial support options when they receive services.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collects insurance information from patients and advises on alternative financial assistance options.
2. Registers new patients, aiding in the completion of necessary forms.
3. Reviews and updates the schedule for new patients as needed.
4. Contacts patients to remind them of their appointments while collecting insurance details and referral forms.
5. Clarifies the billing process to patients and addresses inquiries from both patients and third-party payers.
6. Educates other staff members about the billing process and assists with basic account management tasks.
7. Supports patients with inquiries related to insurance and billing.
8. Aids staff in sending reminder notifications and other scheduling responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with insurance and financial assistance options.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification with a minimum of three years of experience in billing systems and third-party claims, or experience in a medical office or related customer service environment, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Basic Life Support certification is mandatory. (Online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component do not meet the BLS requirements). BLS certification must be obtained within one month of the hire date.

Grade:
C06-H

Salary Range:
$25.40 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries for positions within a specific job grade across the institution. Individual rates will be determined by qualifications, performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for similar positions, and departmental budget considerations.
