Job Summary

Amalgamated Bank of NY seeks a Commercial Banking Professional to drive commercial banking growth across all regions, ensuring the bank meets its obligations under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). This role involves identifying and fostering relationships with CDFIs and other community and intermediary finance organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sales strategies for CRA qualified community development banking products and services.
  2. Identify, analyze, structure, and internally advocate for commercial credit opportunities.
  3. Execute regional and company-wide sales objectives and goals.
  4. Work with commercial banking teams across the company to prospect and effectively on-board new clients.
  5. Work closely with the portfolio management team within the Bank to ensure that existing loans within the assigned portfolio are in compliance.
  6. Establish and maintain a thorough prospect file and business strategy.
  7. Keep updated on changes to the banking environment, bank competition, and customer's business environment.
  8. Understand the Bank's treasury management products.
  9. Adhere to general bank regulatory procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of commercial credit experience. Formal credit training is a plus.
  3. Minimum 5+ years in commercial banking and CRA related role.
  4. A strong working knowledge of credit, intermediary lending, underwriting, non-profit accounting, tax credits, and CRA qualifications.
  5. Results-oriented with strong relationship management and business development skills, with a successful track record in coalition building and partnership execution.
  6. Well-developed analytical, credit, and problem-solving skills with knowledge of credit administration, analysis, and credit policy/procedure.
  7. Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  8. Interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Compensation: The starting base salary for this role is between $130,835 – $145,00.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
